Dogs and Greenwich market.

One of the great things about being at Greenwich market is the amount is the dogs that come through.
Being right next to Greenwich park means that people often walk their dog and then come along to shop and eat. As I massive dog lover it makes me happy to see them and I thought I would take a picture of some. All very different with some great names.
firstly meet Sadie - a big floppy schnauzer (I want one!)
I love a English bulldog
bother and sister Huxley and Maisie
 Angie
Pablo (who had a wonderful grin)
well behaved staffie with his bandana..oscar

Ron the chocolate lab - and maybe the best name !

so if you have a dog , love a dog come and have a lovely day out! and of course you could always buy some fabric from me to make your own smart bandana for your best friend.

At the market... again!

Here I am back at Greenwich market. It has been great being back and meeting up with old friends and meeting people who have joined while I have been away. A new roof has been fitted while I have been away. it isn't great for us traders as it leaks and is a bit of a greenhouse in this hot weather. I like the new flooring that has also been done. Not as attractive as the old stones but it really helps when pushing huge storage trolleys around! Look at the lovely blue sky!

I have more fabric than before and trying to fit it all in is a bit of a challenge and I am always trying to come up with new ideas.
Dreeses I made to show what the merchant and mills patterns look like made up. But I have nearly sold out so a new display for this week...
Marshall joins me - but only appears when I get my lunch out!
It is finally the summer and with the break from teaching I plan to go fabric mad! I am even going to try and make a harder dress this week. I am being asked more and more to make clothes for people and the requests are getting harder so I want to make sure everything is perfectly made!
if you are ever in the Greenwich area come and say hello!

Simplicity 1221 1940's vintage look pinny.

My latest make was from this pattern. I wanted to do something quick and easy.

The pinny took longer than I thought it would and was a little harder than super simple. I find simplicity patterns not the easiest to follow. Does anyone agree? I think I may prefer Burda.. but I will keep going and try some more to see if I am right. Plus Simplicity do do some lovely patterns

I changed it slightly and didn't cross the straps at the back. As I do intend to wear it, and I wanted it to be easy to take of and put on. I also attached some buttons at the back.
I used some old fabric and the pocket is smitten kitten from Michael Miller, I had a little scrap left from another project.

On to the next - which is another simplicity...

the weather is gorgeous!
