dress done

Not a great photo, but i finished the dress. It has turned out 'ok'. i can wear it, it fits, but it is not perfect by any stretch. I found the fabric quite hard to sew with, and my machine didn't like it either. Many a redo. I did sew a whole sleeve on with out realising that the thread had snapped again right at the start! It did like to pucker up too.... but not in a kissing nice way!
Shhhhhhh don't tell my son - i managed to take this quite pic of my son wearing my dress - before sleeves were put on. He made me promise not to use it! I was meant to go to a boot fair and put some stuff on ebay but time ran out on me. I have to make a scraf tie thingy for someone at work now. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. x

  4. ;-))) Bless you i wont tell him ;-)) Hope he doesn't read your blog ;-)) Great dress it looks lovely. My machine does the same when i am sometimes making my dresses that is why i have given up with it for the time being its so much easier to sew by hand. It needs a service. So glad you didn't give up though ;-)) dee x

  5. The dress looks lovely; even though the material turned out to be hard to sew with, its still a gorgeous design.

  8. That's so pretty - the fabric is wonderful isn't it, and the dress is a lovely shape and looks like the sort of thing you'd wear loads. Really lovely, and the photo may be useful if you have to blackmail your son sometime in the future. xxx
