A few things from Atomic Tabby

Having problems with my mobile at the moment, which I am embarrassed to say is causing me so much stress. I hate not having a working phone. So I cannot download any pictures ( which is probably not such a bad thing as I need to sort out and start using my camera ), so instead I thought I would use other peoples makes today. The fabric I am looking at today is the gorgeous Atomic Tabby from Michael Miller.
A friend is going to get a gift from her birthday from it and I can't tell you what just in case she sees. But she has been hinting for something for her kitchen.

Having had a look around the tinternet I have seen some fabulous makes from different people and have tried to put in the links with the pictures if available. The dress above is from luckylucille.com. I really like it and how they have labelled it.
As a huge fabric fan (along with many other I think!) what I really like is how versatile it is and how the print can look so different when used in different was or when matched with other fabrics. Below is this lovely make up bag from http://www.simplysockyarn.com/bl-bags-ts-atomic-tabby/

I also love a bit of frill and pomp and old fashion window dressings.
If you want to learn how to make curtains like this the link is here from craftsy.

Have I saved the best for last? I am so happy to have discovered this seller from Etsy. The site sells many more dresses and they all seem rather fab.

The seller is called 'Silly old sea dog'. which is a great name! and the dress can be bought from the link below.

If you would like to make something from this fabric it is available to buy from

Don't forget to send in any pictures of your makes from my fabric as I would love to feature them.
Happy making everyone!

New fabric and Merchant and Mills

The joy of a day out and bringing back a sewing pattern.
I had a fabulous day in Hastings, one of those days where you run out of time and leave much later than you planned. The weather wasn't great but the rain held of and was perfect for sitting on the stoney beach and stare out to see.
I love the shops in Hastings and popped into the rather gorgeous Butlers Emporium. Just look at how gorgeous it is! I adore the French soap they sell and popped into get some and came out with...
A new sewing pattern from Merchant and Mills a company from nearby Rye. Today after walking the gorgeous Frank I intend to make the camber set. It can be a top or a dress.

It looks quite an easy pattern and I have got some new fabrics in so I think I will use one of them.
I think this one would suit it well, and would suit it well and is available here
BUT as usual I think I may go a little odd.

Could it be the lovely tasty strawberries from Elizabeth Studio
I always love an Eiffel Tower image and I do like Michael Millers
Or a bit of Funky owls?
 These cowboys could be fun...
I might even go for something else. Maybe the walk will help me decide...
What would you use? I do think half the fun is in the choosing before the making.

getting back

Schools out for summer!
Lets just leave the fact that it has been quite a long while for me and blogger...
Here I am, and the summer holidays have arrived for one tired teacher fabric seller. With life throwing me some curve balls of late, which I have caught, ducked and been hit by, its time to get my sewing love back. Firstly I asked a friend of mine and very talented photographer to take some pictures of some of my fabrics. Cath really is great and I am so pleased with the results!

In the pink...
It was a lovely sunny day and we made the most of it and took some fabrics outside. These will hopefully be replacing old pictures on my website soon, to give it a little re vamp.
I have also ordered some new fabrics which should be arriving any day now. while another order has come in. and oh how I love then
This is Robert Kaufman beauty and I am using it to inspire me to make something. I am now of to look at blogs and catch up with everyone.
Happy days!

sewing, holidays and makes

What a lovely summer we have had, glorious weather, and now we get another week of sunshine. Why did I come down with an awful cold?!! Anyway it is clearing and I thought I would share some loveliness about the summer.
I love the picture below as it reminds me of my house, except I have a tiny table so we end up eating on our laps.

below a beautiful dress made from Michael Miller's park landscape. Isnt it lovely?I love the back drop to the picture.
I got some fab new fabrics in and this is just a tiny show of them

and a summer dress for me for my first proper holiday in four years

6 wonderful days in Croatia. We stayed in Split and I loved everything about it. The sun, the old town, the food, the clean seas and the people. I would go back in a flash!
Hope the sun today cheered you too.
