Sunday is fabric sorting day

Today i have manged to photograph and up load 25 pictures of fabrics for my online shop - so hopefully i am nearing the time it will go live...
To reward myself i thought i would make myself - literally in fabric! In this months molly makes they have a pattern for these very cute dolls. I am not going to do the same but it did get me thinking..as it my las post and the lovely ideas i got as to what to do with my chewed pink alien. I did do something that you will see at the end of this post. But a gorgeous friend of mine suggested that i take him and photo him on adventures, which i now can't do but again it got me thinking and hence the miss ginger doll. mmmm not sure what it look like and whether she will be worth showing so lets see......
I have also finally starting knitting this cardigan, and lets face it with this British weather, i have a feeling we will be needing woolies alot!

And here is my alien... he has been joined by a friend to stop them being lonely..
Now i think i shall go look at the wonderful things everyone else has been making and doing. Happy sunday one and all!

New year fortune cookies

I know i keep saying it, but last year was so very busy and exhausting for me that i hardly wrote any blogs and as for selling fabric, the less said about that the better! But i am now feeling much more myself and ready for a busy fun filled handmade new year.
I am still really busy with work and 'doing up my new house' but I am getting there. For this reason my first project this year was to make some fortune cookies that were in the latest Molly Makes. VERY easy and I think very cute. I didn't put the fortunes inside the cookies but around the bowl so that when friends popped over on new years eve they could lucky dip their fortune. I typed them on my typewrite that I just love using.

So not exactly amazing stuff but i enjoyed making and they would be great to make with kids.
Over the weekend i will be making some collars - as mentioned in last blog and will do a little tutorial after.

strike! and make...

Hello all and yes i am still around! I have a bit of time tomorrow as i don't have to prepare for tomorrows lessons as i am on STRIKE! It's like back to the 80's isn't it. I feel very strongly about saving my pension and the pensions of all the people i work with and who do the like work. The thought of having to work until i am 68 is , well i would say impossible. As some people may know i am a teacher in a special school. Our students have severe or profound learning difficulties, and many have added complications of challenging behaviour, autism, health and physical difficulties. I am head of autism and hardly sit down all day as i work with some very very challenging behaviour...

Will i be able to do this job when i am in my late 60's?

So tomorrow i will be having the day of. I am not going on the March but will be resting up at home and hanging a banner from my window.
Ok i also have to admit that i am planning a lovely day. Tonight i went to the supermarket and bought myself a mollie makes.
With lots of lovely ideas inside

I have bought a lovely stack of beautiful felt from Annie the felt fairy who kindly sent it recorded delivery so i have it for tomorrow, Thank you so much Annie. A few people from work are coming over and we are planning to spend the day making bits for Christmas. All work and no play?
of course not! I will be making the ,most of a precious day of (losing a days pay), and have got in the important things..

Wah hey! I will let you know what we make (if they are not too wonky). xx
