the ups and downs of life

Why is my son looking so pensive?
Probably because he managed to download some very nasty computer viruses. The laptop had to go and be repaired, and he had to miss out on facebook for a few days and I was unable to do any blogging, and reasearch stuff. I was slightly cross, but luckily i was recommended this lovely man who fixed it all and didnt con me out of loads of money.

with no computer (we wont mention the battered one that takes 4 hours to start up) some sewing was needed
My lovely daughter is getting quite good.
i have a really great charity shop near me. i go every couple of weeks. A trip was needed and i was really pleased with my finds. this dolls house was only £10. It is obviously hand made - which i think makes it better. i hope i dont ruin it - i have plans that involve lots of felt and embroidery...not sure how to replace the windows. i want to make little curtains too.

the inside is ok but i revamp will be fun !

i also got this great 60's top for a pound!

i bought this lovely nut cracker on a previous visit

saturday was spent looking for a sofa for my sisters new flat.we decided this one was very comfy
!
i did pop upstairs to see the christmas decorations for inspiration and really liked the mittens. very easy to make.

after broken computer, struggling to complete work and general week madness of teaching and kids it was great to visit the shops and have a browse. But even better was Saturday night! i had bought the tickets ages ago and was very excited about going to see Plan B in Brixton. i thought it was going to be good but it was fabulous! I got near to the front and just had the best time, woke up with aching legs from jumping around so much and a sore throat, but it was so worth it. i think it is one of my best gigs ever! i may have been one of the oldest there though! ha ha who cares?

I have tickets again for March.

  3. hope you are getting better… sore throat is not a lot of fun its just uncomfortable and difficult to swallow.

usually, i would take the Nim Jiom Cough Syrup (www.geocities.jp/ninjiom_hong_kong/index_e.htm ) which has a thick consistency formulation. it coats the throat and includes herbs that are particularly good for that application.

i hope it works on you as well.
