flower power

This weekend we had a little bit of sunshine and from reading other peoples blogs and looking at the happy faces around , it seems to have made eveyone get a bit of a spring in their step.

i have ignored my garden, as it has been so cold, but with the lovely clothes drying weather i did ventured out and was nicely surprised by the flowers that have been brave enough to appear.

I do love bluebells , they remind me of being young and 'playing out'
I'm sure there used to be much more than there are now?

Here is just a small selection of flower fabrics.

I love how very different they all are...

some modern tulips...

and big fat cabbage flowers..

 twisted
and dainty

a sixties feel and a fifties...

Amy Butler
and lastly lovely blue dandelions (which are better on fabric than in your garden!)
just a small selection of my flower fabric. Yes flower fabric equals flower power!
enjoy the sunshine and blooms.

oooooo arrrrrrr

Today i choice my first dress pattern..... it said it was simple to make and doesn't have zip, so the plan tomorrow is make this without swearing or crying.. i am going to make it with this material. i loved this too so thought i would try and make a simple a line skirt. Think i may have run away with myself.!
They go well together too, so i am hoping for some left over fabric for a cushion.
I haven't forgot my royal knitting and all the body parts have been made for Camilla!
Can you spot the legs?
