looking up

Above is a picture of my lovely sisters new kitten leo. He has the most amazing colouring. I popped over to get my hair done - away grey away! and got  a little pic of him. Today has been one of racing round to post offices - one to pic up a package. then to another to send my winners their prizes and some ebay sales.
i made this picture below just using a very torn up old book. I did still feel bad ripping the pages out. ripping books feels soooo wrong. ! I like how it turned out - sorry you get to see the sideways look!
I really want a camera as i still use my phone, which shows doesn't it?. My friend had a lovely one on saturday at our end of year staff party, that i oooood and arrrrred over. I thought to myself  'i will have one those thank you very much', and so enquired politely about price etc.................her NEW boyfriend bought it for her £600!(and he is really nice too) so i will not be improving my images for a while (unless i find a new rich boyfriend (oops! not really Joe))
I have made a new skirt and really like the lip shaped top. Its from a pattern that i will soon be selling so look out for my next blog if you fancy a go.
When making it you had to sew all the pieces together. so if i was run over by a steam roller this is what i would look like!
ok my lovely blog readers have a fabuloous evening. i am of to read your posts

  2. Leo's lovely! A nice contrast to all the grime on my post. I should have more kittens ;-)

I love your artwork, but unless a book is literally held together by threads I still can't tear pages out!

  6. I have mixed feelings about ripping up books - pulling apart one that's still in good nick is a big no-no for me, but if it's really wrecked, then salvaging the good bits is helping keep at least a bit of it going. I get really mad at people who cut up perfectly good vintage stuff, whether it's taking the photos out of an old film annual or chopping 6 inches off a 1950s dress hem (and don't get me started on Livia Firth's Oscar dress), but recycling beyond-repair things is great.
